Style Guide: Leopard Print, S/S 2019
How I styled leopard print four different ways for the upcoming Spring/Summer season…
Spring/Summer is approaching… WHAT?! Is it just me or is anyone else still loving cozying up in sweaters and jackets all the time? Anyway, SO much to think about when it comes to fashion this upcoming season. Trends, styles, dos-and-donts of this-and-that. Well, lucky for YOU I love to think about all of this. Not only is it my actual profession to know what’s in and what’s next, it’s also my passion! And I’m here for the long run to share with you ALL my insights. Where do we start?
Glad you asked! Like many of you out there (regardless of age mommas), us girls really can’t say no to animal print, can we? All kinds! One of my absolute favorites is leopard, and I recently caught myself thinking, “How can I style one of my favorite animal prints this upcoming season? Can I?” YESSSS YOU CAN!! I was honestly debating it because leopard is a darker print, and it was definitely in trend during the Fall/Winter season. To add to that, I was surfing Pinterest the other day, getting inspired (my daily go-to for inspo), I was seeing tons of photos of leopard in only Winter styling. I didn’t see any photos of leopard for Spring or Summer. Hmm… that gave me the idea of creating a blog post - how to style leopard print for the spring/summer season”. I LOVE leopard and I needed to find a way to keep it in rotation all year long. And I did! I managed to style it four ways. Can I share?
#1 PRETTY IN PINK: “The Girly Girl”
I wanted to bring a pop of color that was sweet and pretty, so a pastel pink was perfect for this fit. Oh, and this is a leopard dress not a skirt, but you can add any crop top to make it look like a skirt. Cool, huh? You’re welcome! I got this simple cropped sweater from Forever 21. They did have two other colors, but I really like this pink… it brings the spring vibe for sure. And luckily I have pink Common Projects shoes to go with this whole outfit, so I added those along with some simple gold jewelry to finish the look. During the Winter you would probably wear neutral and dark colors, but pink or any Spring color of your choice would work out great here with this look. It’s casual, cute, but also trendy. I absolutely love it!!
#2 LIVING ON THE EDGE: “The Bad Girl”
For this look I’m styling this leopard print garment as a dress, and you can use any graphic tee and out it underneath the dress like I did here. I’m wearing an AllSaints tee, and layering it with gold necklaces and earrings, along with black booties. All put together you walk around looking super cool and feeling like a total bad… girl ;-)
#3 STREET-STYLE: “The Sneaker Girl”
This look is so simple and easy to pull off! I picked out a basic white tee from my closet and layered it on top of the leopard dress for an instant outfit that’s casual, but cool too (I ended up tying a knot on the side since it was a bit too long for my liking, you can get away with this, too). Seriously! You can grab any black/white basic tee and pull off this look. My go-to shoe for this kind of outfit is the Fila Disruptor II, and although a white/chunky sneaker is my preference, you can style this look with any white sneaker or your classic Adidas, Nikes, or Vans. DONE!
#4 NIGHT OUT: “The Glamor Girl”
Okayyyy girl… if you walk out your door dressed like this, you are ready to go out! Am I right? Whether it’s girls night out or date night, this is the perfect fit! It’s fun, classy, yet a little bit glamorous all the while. All you need besides the dress is a leather jacket, black heels, simple gold jewelry… OH, and don’t forget the red lipstick. That’s important! I styled it here with a black zip pouch from Balenciaga. Heyyyy! “Baaaad and bougie!”
And there you have it! Four cute and unique, simple ways to style leopard print this S/S season. Simple, right? But SO much flavor and trendiness going on. Leopard print really makes it easy to not look boring, and with these different stylings, you’ll stand out for sure!
Hey, of these four looks, which do you relate to most? Tell me in the comments below, which was your favorite look?
